Ready for your Dreiländergiro experience?
We’re already incredibly excited for the Dreiländergiro 2026 and can’t wait to share this experience with you on 28 June 2026!
Your Dreiländergiro experience begins even before 28 June 2026 with our varied supporting programme – so it’s definitely worth arriving early! You’ll soon be able to find all the details, including information about our Girodays events, and we’ll keep you up to date!
If you’d like to connect with your fellow riders, you’ll find all the ways to do so on our Community page.
Participant Information
Are you already part of the Dreiländergiro family – or do you want to become one? Then you’re in exactly the right place!
Here you’ll find all the key information you need for your Dreiländergiro experience – from registration to the finish line. One thing in advance: it’s well worth planning to stay a few extra days. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
Step by step, we’ll guide you through the preparations, the event day, and everything afterwards, so you can enjoy your Giro stress-free and fully informed.
Over the past few years, the Dreiländergiro has grown – and we’ve grown along with it. Many things we’ve managed with passion, countless extra hours, and creative do-it-yourself solutions. But as wonderful as this spirit is, at some point, passion and idealism reach their limits.
To ensure that our legendary cycling marathon remains safe, professional, and unique in the future, it’s time to take the next step. Therefore, the entry fee for 2026 will be €150. The previous tiered pricing (such as early-bird tickets) will no longer apply – everyone pays the same fair price.
This decision wasn’t made lightly. But to be honest, we’re not acting too soon – we’re acting just in time. Because the one thing we never want to have to say is: “The Dreiländergiro has grown beyond our capacity.”
As a non-profit association, we don’t operate for profit. Every euro goes straight back into the Dreiländergiro – into route safety, organisation, sustainability, catering, hundreds of helping hands, and all the little details that make this day so special. Of course, our organisational costs also have to be covered – but those are fixed fees and not influenced by the entry fee.
For you, this means: more safety, more quality, more experience. And the value you receive in return is far greater than the €150 entry fee.
In short: your entry fee isn’t just a payment – it’s your investment in an unforgettable day full of community, passion, and pure cycling joy, and in the good feeling of being part of something truly unique. 💛

Together. Strong. Diverse.
The Dreiländergiro is a cycling marathon for everyone. 🏳️🌈💛🏳️⚧️
We actively promote inclusion and want to offer the best possible support to people with disabilities.
If your participation requires special arrangements, please contact us directly – together we’ll find a way to make your participation possible.
All information regarding accessibility can be found in the FAQs.
We also have a special focus on promoting women’s cycling:
Our goal for 2026 is for at least one quarter of the field to consist of women riders.
That’s why we’re especially delighted about every woman who takes part in the Dreiländergiro. 🚴♀️✨
It’s close to our hearts to celebrate and promote cycling – so in principle, we don’t want to exclude anyone. However, there are a few important points:
- Professionals: welcome to ride along, but outside the official ranking.(Register normally and notify us of your licence by email.)
- Would-be Tour de France heroes: we mean no offence, but we all know them – the ambitious amateurs who confuse a public cycling marathon with the Tour de France. That’s not the spirit of the Dreiländergiro. Here, it’s all about the experience, togetherness, and heart – not ego.
- Lone wolves: perfectly fine if you prefer to ride solo, but at the Dreiländergiro, community comes first.By starting, you become part of our family right up to the finish line. That means: if someone needs help, you stop. Solidarity isn’t optional – it’s our core principle.
- Traffic offenders: running red lights, risky overtaking? No thanks. Our route is not fully closed – the traffic rules (StVO), common sense, and respect are mandatory. Anyone who disregards the rules or endangers others will be disqualified.
Golden Rule
Imagine this:
You’re on a record pace, your bike computer shows dream numbers – and suddenly, a fellow rider needs help.
Would you stop, check in, and even sacrifice your personal record to assist?
That’s how you know whether you’re Dreiländergiro material.
If your answer is yes, then welcome to our family.
Here, the motto is:
Community before records – heart before stopwatch.
To be honest, we never know exactly how big the rush will be – but it tends to grow every year.
Last year, one route was sold out within just a few hours, and the second one shortly afterwards.
Tips for your registration:
- Registration opens at midnight: Yes, it’s worth staying up late or setting an alarm. Registration opens at 00:00:01.
- Don’t panic: If the page doesn’t load right away, resist the urge to reload every five seconds – that could crash the server.
- Preparation helps: Prepare your details (see below) in advance in a separate document – it avoids typing errors and speeds up the process. Also:
- Think of your personal access code beforehand – you’ll need it later if you want to change your data. (You wouldn’t believe how many participants just type in something random and forget it later!)
- Have your payment details ready (you can pay by instant transfer, PayPal, card, or bank transfer).
- For group registrations, collect your team’s data in advance and keep it ready to copy and paste.
Information Required During Registration
- Route
- First and last name
- Year of birth
- Gender
- Nationality
- Optional: club/team
- Jersey size
- Email address
- Preferred start block, estimated finish time & any reference results (see next section)
- Amateur or professional status (professional = you hold an elite licence or cycling is your profession, even part-time)
- Mobile number
- Optional: mobile number for SMS service (e.g. of a support person)
- Address
- Emergency contact (name and phone number)
- Preferred language (German or English)
- Access code (with your email and access code, you can later make changes)
To ensure everyone starts safely and smoothly, the field is divided into start blocks.
This prevents congestion and ensures a fair and relaxed start.
👉 Please assess yourself realistically – choosing a block that’s too ambitious will only make it harder for you and others.
Start Block 1 – The Fast Starters
Reserved for the first 50 registrations per route and for members of the organiser’s club, BikeClub Nauders.
Start Block 2 – The Podium Chasers
For riders who regularly rank among the top in their age group.
Limited to 300 participants per route.
Start Block 3 – The Pacemakers
For ambitious cyclists aiming for good times and a sporty ride.
Also limited to 300 participants per route.
Start Block 4 – The Sporty Riders
For those who want to enjoy the course, the scenery, and the community – sporty, but without pressure.
Start Block 5 – The Relaxed Riders
“The last shall be first.”
Here, it’s all about the experience – no stress, no rush, no hectic start. Just pure joy.
Good to Know:
- Your official time starts only when you cross the start mat (results are based on net time). So don’t worry about your goal time if you start further back.
- Podium rankings and daily winners are based on finish order, which is why potential podium riders should start in Block 2.
Due to high demand, we’ve made some improvements:
You can now complete a group registration with just two or more people – even if you’re riding different routes! Under the registration link, simply click “Group Registration” instead of “Single Registration” and enter your team’s data together.
Payment is made collectively for all team members and is only possible by bank transfer or SEPA direct debit. If you don’t have every single piece of information yet (like jersey size), don’t worry – most data can be updated later. However, you must have these details for each rider before registering, as they cannot be changed later:
- First and last name
- Year of birth
- Nationality
- Email address
- Chosen route
You’ll also need your team’s address and an emergency contact for the group.
Once registration closes, it will not be reopened.
Your only option to still take part is to take over a starting place from someone who can no longer participate.
Starting from 1 January 2026, our online transfer tool will be available for this purpose.
If you know someone – or find someone – who wants to give up their place, you can take it over for a processing fee of €15.
All details about the transfer process can be found in the FAQs.

but for the Dreiländergiro, the right cycling gear is what really matters.

Must-haves for every ride:
- Cycling shorts & jersey (ideally your Dreiländergiro jersey 😉)
- 2 drinking bottles
- Arm warmers
- Wind jacket or vest (a vest is enough in good weather)
- Cycling gloves
👉 Riding down the Umbrail Pass without a wind jacket? Not fun – even in sunshine.
Gloves keep your hands warm and ready to brake.
For bad weather forecasts:
- Rain jacket (make sure it’s high quality & waterproof!)
- Neoprene gloves
- Overshoes
- Leg or knee warmers

Punctual: Aim to be at the start area around 06:00 a.m.
You’ll still have plenty of time to get into your start block (it often takes longer than expected).
Even if you accidentally take the wrong access route, you’ll still have enough time to turn around and reach your correct start block.
Last-minute: Be at the start area no later than 06:15 a.m. — but only if you’ve already walked the access route the day before.
With 3,000 participants starting simultaneously and narrow entry lanes, 15 minutes is the absolute minimum — and only with good preparation.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to walk the access route to your start block the day before! Anyone who shows up at the wrong entrance will be sent back. Good preparation is essential – otherwise you’ll miss the start. 🏁

All aid stations are equipped with a small selection of mechanical tools, including a floor pump, spare tubes, and basic tools.
In addition, there is a mobile neutral service team on the course that can support participants along the route — depending on availability. To reach them, contact the Dreiländergiro Service Line: +43 660 949 25 70
A sweep vehicle follows behind the last participants. If you decide to abandon the Dreiländergiro on the course, you can be taken back to the finish area in Nauders with the sweep vehicle. If you are not riding near the back of the field, you may have to wait some time until the sweep vehicle reaches you. To reduce waiting time, it might be reasonable to return using public transport. It’s best to report your withdrawal to the Dreiländergiro Service Line: +43 660 949 25 70. They can tell you the current location of the sweep vehicle.
These are the times you must meet:
… on the Stelvio Engadin course:
- Stelvio Pass by 12:00

Call the Dreiländergiro Service Line immediately (+43 660 949 25 70) and provide clear, precise information about the situation:
- WHERE you are (town, kilometer mark)
- WHAT happened
- WHO is calling (name, start number, phone number)
- HOW MANY injured/affected persons
- WHAT KIND of injury/symptoms
Stay on the line until we hang up and make sure you remain reachable for a callback.
If you arrive at an accident as a first responder, follow this procedure:
- Secure the accident scene
- Ensure your own safety
- Make contact with the injured person(s)
- Activate the emergency chain → Contact the Service Line: +43 660 949 25 70
- Provide first aid
It is your duty to provide first aid in the event of an accident.
The Service Line is a phone number that connects you directly to the ECC – Event Control Center.
All incoming reports are handled there. You should only call the Service Line in situations where you truly need assistance — for example: a medical emergency, a major technical problem or if you simply cannot continue on your own.
Save the number before the event and make sure you carry your phone with you: +43 660 949 25 70
Your race number = your official document!
- Mount it visibly and correctly (do not fold or roll it).
- Only with proper mounting everything works: Participation ✔️ Border crossings ✔️ Support from course staff ✔️ Sportograf photos ✔️
- Incorrect mounting = disqualification (official requirement).
How the timing works:
- Your transponder is integrated in your seatpost number 🚲
- Only if it’s mounted correctly will your time and classification be valid.
- If your transponder does not trigger for any reason, please report to the Race Office on site.
- An additional finisher camera records your time as a backup.
Live Timing & Split Times
Your performance is recorded at several checkpoints so your friends and family can follow you online.
- Stelvio Vinschgau course: Prad/Stilfserbrücke – Stelvio – Laatsch – St. Valentin – Finish
- Stelvio Engadin course: Prad/Stilfserbrücke – Stelvio – Santa Maria – Ofenpass – Zernez – Martina – Finish
👉 You’ll recognize split-time checkpoints by the “Timing Check-Point” signs along the route.
SMS Service for your supporters
- Enter your supporter’s phone number during registration 📲
- Shortly before you reach the finish line, they will receive an SMS:
- Vinschgau course: Info sent at Reschen (6 km before the finish)
- Engadin course: Info sent at Martina (7.7 km before the finish)
- This ensures they’ll be waiting at the finish line right on time! 🎉
Finisher Time
Your result is available immediately after crossing the finish line — online and via SMS.

Sprinting to the finish is strictly prohibited! Finish entry Stelvio Engadin: follow the orange arrows. Be sure to slow down and enter the finish at a controlled pace. Please clear the finish chute promptly after crossing the line.
At the Dreiländergiro, the rule is: Ride with heart & mind! ❤️🧠
👉 Important note: There is no full road closure – traffic may approach you at any time.
What you must follow:
- Road traffic regulations: The traffic laws of each country (AUT, ITA, CH) must be followed at all times. Violations lead to disqualification and may result in legal penalties.
- Keep right: Always stay on the right-hand side – no cutting corners.
- Maintain distance: Many crashes happen because someone touches the rear wheel of the rider in front.
- Tunnels & galleries: Be careful with changing light conditions – stay alert.
- Descents: Ride defensively, with awareness and respect – your safety comes first.
👉 You will find the overview of all hazard zones online – it is updated continuously.
👉 Make sure to check it again shortly before the start:
Hazard zones at the Dreiländergiro >>
Along the route, you will encounter many course marshals. A small side note: most of them are Dreiländergiro heroes – they volunteer their Sunday to support you. A friendly nod or greeting is always appreciated! ❤️
🏳️🟨 Yellow Flag
If a marshal is showing a yellow flag, they are warning you of a hazard.
Reduce your speed and ride with extra caution.
🚩🟥 Red Flag
If a marshal is holding a red flag, slow down and speak to them.
They will provide you with important safety-related information.
Turn your loved ones into the loudest cheer crew on the mountain! 🚴♂️💨
With the Cheering Zone Package, they’ll be shuttled up to the Stelvio early in the morning, enjoy food and drinks, the best views – and create a goosebump atmosphere in the official KEEGO Cheering Zone. Cowbells, signs and loud cheering are explicitly encouraged.
How you can help:
- Travel green: Arrive by train, bus, or in carpools to save CO₂. 🚆🚗
- Less single-use, more reusable: Refill your bottle at the aid stations – don’t take a new cup for every sip. ♻️
- Use resources wisely: Don’t let water run unnecessarily, only take the goodies you really need, and return unused items in the basket at the race packet pickup. 💧
- Dispose of waste properly – VERY IMPORTANT: No littering on the course! Every aid station has a Litter Zone – only there may garbage be thrown away. You ride through several nature parks – littering in nature is absolutely unacceptable! 🚫🗑️
- Shop consciously: Check out our sustainable partners and choose durable, ethically responsible products. 🏷️
- Reuse goodie bags: Perfect as a bread bag or everyday tote. 🛍️
- Save materials: Print only what’s necessary, avoid unnecessary flyers, and use digital information. 📱
Our contribution:
- Exclusively reusable materials: All aid stations and the entire event use only reusable cups, dishes, and cutlery. This avoids more than 20,000 single-use cups and over 1,000 kg of plastic waste. Every sip counts! 🥤♻️
- Regional & organic: Our cakes, pizza slices, and every piece of bread are locally produced – from the Nauders bakery to the eggs from nearby farms. This not only tastes better but also supports local agriculture. 🥖🍰🥚 And beyond that, regionality is our top priority for all product selections. When no regional option exists, we source organic products and, for “exotic” items like bananas and coffee, rely on Fairtrade or similar certifications.
- Textiles & materials: Our jerseys, team apparel, banners, beach flags and goodie bags are Oeko-Tex certified, recycled, or produced by B-Corp companies. Your jersey isn’t just cool – it’s sustainable, too! 👕🌍
- Use goodies smartly: Goodie bags can easily be reused as bread or shopping bags – saving waste and giving you a nice keepsake. 🛍️
- Eco-friendly partners & products: We intentionally work with sustainable partners and agree in writing with each exhibitor and cooperation partner on environmental measures for the event.
- Saving resources & energy: Printed materials instead of flyers, digital information, reusable signage, recycled wood for trophies and banners – we pay attention to every detail to conserve resources.
You did it – and it’s far more than “just” a cycling marathon. 🚴♀️💨
As a finisher, you are one of the few who have conquered the legendary switchbacks of the Stelvio and the three-country passes under your own power. No one can ever take that away from you.
Whether you flew like a chamois or fought like a bull – your finish in Nauders officially makes you a Dreiländergiro legend.
And the best part: you are now part of the big Dreiländergiro community – thousands of like-minded people who share your passion and your pride. 🤝
