We love nature, the mountains & cycling!
The legendary classic is a Green Event!
Sustainability has been an important part of the Dreiländergiro for many years. Join us in making the event as green as possible! We share a passion for nature, the mountains and cycling, and over the past few years we have turned our words – and your ideas – into meaningful action.
We have now gained extensive experience in organising a cycling marathon as a Green Event, and our conclusion is simple: where there is a will, there is a way. It does require commitment and effort, but it is absolutely achievable, and we encourage all event organisers to take the step towards becoming a Green Event.
Our pilot project, launched in 2022, introducing reusable cups at the refreshment stations, worked seamlessly from the very beginning and has since become standard practice. Working closely with regional producers and suppliers has brought the entire region even closer together – and it is something we genuinely enjoy.
Together with our partners, we will continue to stage the Dreiländergiro as a Green Event. In 2026, we even successfully achieved the Green Event Tirol certification.
As in previous years, we place special emphasis on working exclusively with environmentally responsible partners, offering regional and organically certified products at our refreshment stations, and providing sustainably produced event jerseys.
Just like the cakes at the aid stations - the eggs used come from Nauders hens. The cakes at the event are baked by the "Nauderer Ortsbäuerinnen" (local farmers'). The pizza slices are baked by the pizzeria in the neighboring village, which is supplied with organic mozzarella from us, and the trophies are designed by the former Dreiländergiro organizer, Karl Mall - using local wood, of course. Although our jersey manufacturer isn't from the region, THE LRC Sportswear produces climate-positive items! We could tell you many more stories like these!

Your green travel to the Dreiländergiro 2026
Your benefits of carpooling:
- You contribute to climate and environmental protection
- You save costs
- You have good company
Sustainable travel pays off!
If you can prove your green journey to us — for example, with your train ticket or messages and photos of your carpool — you’ll get the Dreiländergiro 2027 ticket 15% cheaper!
The greenest — and let’s be honest — the most comfortable way to arrive is still by public transport!
Simply arrive better – by train to Tyrol/Austria.
With 33 direct connections daily and countless easy transfers, the most beautiful destinations in Tyrol are easily reachable from many places in Germany. Often faster than driving!
The train gets You to Your destination relaxed and safe — from just €39!
Children under 15 travel free with You (just add them to Your ticket).
Your destination station is Landeck-Zams. From there, a convenient Postbus takes You straight to Nauders.
Book your train ticket now and secure your 2027 ticket at a special price!
From the railway station (Landeck/Zams), your journey continues by bus – completely free of charge!
We want to support your sustainable journey to the Dreiländergiro. That's why you will receive a voucher code for a free bus ticket from Landeck to Nauders.
Your bike travels free of charge too, thanks to an additional voucher code.
You will receive both voucher codes by email approximately one week before the Dreiländergiro. In the VVT Ticket Shop, simply select a single ticket from "Landeck-Zams Bahnhof" to "Nauders Mühle". At the end of the booking process, choose the "Redeem voucher" option and enter your code.
Using your second voucher code, you will need to make a separate booking for a day ticket for your bicycle. Unfortunately, the two voucher codes cannot be combined, which is why two separate bookings are required.
Your bike will be transported on a rear-mounted bike rack. This is completely safe, and you can even watch a video on the VVT website showing how it works.
You can find all further information about bike transport there as well.
P.S. Of course, you can also cycle from the railway station to Nauders – for example via the Via Claudia Augusta or the Inn Cycle Path.
If you would like to add a few more kilometres to your trip, you can plan your route using the VVT cycle route planner.
Let's save energy and water!
💧💚 Together for a more sustainable future at the Dreiländergiro! 💚💧
As passionate cyclists, we not only share a love for the sport but also have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our environment. As we prepare for the upcoming cycling marathon, we would like to encourage you to join us in saving energy and water to help protect our planet.
Here are a few simple but effective ways we can all make a difference, because every step we take to save energy and water counts:
- forming carpool groups
- energy-saving nutrition through local and seasonal products
- sustainable equipment: durable and eco-friendly items can help reduce waste and resource consumption. The Keego bottle is of course a great companion for demanding cycling rides!
- using water sparingly
- raising awareness: motivate your friends and family to make more sustainable choices as well
Our actions
Nauders, as well as the Nauders festival meadow where our event takes place every year, is easily accessible, and the village itself offers a range of accommodation options for you. For the festival tent, event technology and all equipment, we work with regional suppliers.
Our electricity comes directly from the Nauders hydropower plant – local and sustainable! In general, we also pay close attention to the efficient use of water, electricity and heating.
We would very much appreciate it if you arrive by public transport at best.
- Arrival by train: Your destination station is Landeck-Zams. From there you can get to Nauders am Reschenpass by post bus or cab.
- Public transport
- On the location we offer enough bicycle parking places
Across three large waste stations, you can not only dispose of your waste but also carefully separate it into six different fractions. We rely on your support to make this work!
After each refreshment station, you will find a clearly marked waste area where you can dispose of your rubbish after your snack.
This year, you once again have free choice regarding your goodie bag. It will already be pre-packed, but we kindly ask you to return anything you do not need to the collection point at the end of the goodie station. Please only take what you truly like – and leave behind what would otherwise end up as waste.
Flyers and similar materials have not been included in our start packs for years. Instead, you will find an information board where you can pick up selected brochures and flyers that are of interest to you.
And the best part: your goodie bag itself is sustainable – a reusable bag for groceries, a bread pouch, and more. We continue to develop new ideas so you can reduce waste and save resources in everyday life.
This year, we are offering a food truck festival and will primarily use regional products. Non-regional products will only be sourced from Fairtrade suppliers. We remain committed to this approach also along the course, where fresh products are preferably sourced locally.
No worries – bananas will of course still be available, but exclusively with the Fairtrade label. Thanks to the ongoing transformation of PowerBar, our sports nutrition products are also becoming more sustainable.
The bread is baked by our baker in Nauders, as are the cakes – using Nauders (organic) eggs from Beckahof and Rosenhof farms. The pizza slices at the Stilfserjoch are prepared by the pizzeria in the neighbouring village of Reschen and are supplied specifically for the Dreiländergiro with organic mozzarella.
We pay close attention to neutral language in our communications so that we can address all people. In our marquee, we will pay particular attention to accessibility so that there is room for wheelchairs, walkers and baby carriages.
Accessibility at the Festival Tent
We ensure barrier-free access with plenty of space for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. New this year: heavy-duty mats bridge the gap between the festival tent and the bars on the meadow grounds.
Liege- and handbikers are welcome to start with motorized bikes. On the route, we strive to provide the best possible support. To make optimal use of all services (refreshment stations, sweep vehicles, etc.), we recommend having an accompanying person. Accompanying persons receive a free start spot.
Wheelchairs can be provided upon request at selected toilet stops. For this or any other questions about accessibility at the Dreiländergiro, please email viktoria@dreilaendergiro.at or contact our team member Viktoria by phone at +43 677 616 50 550.
. Please send us an email to service@dreilaendergiro.at. If you need a sign language interpreter, we will be happy to provide one. Just click on the link below: Request a sign language interpreter.
